February GSD - Day 6

TGIF! It's been a long week! If ya'll are anything like me, you're planning to spend the last little stretch before the GSD ends pushing yourself to meet that goal you set. ;)

I'll be posting the Day 7 (Final) check-in around Noon CST tomorrow and as long as its still Saturday somewhere in the world you can still check in with your last minute accomplishments! (Who am I kidding? If you don't check in until Sunday, I'm not gonna judge, lol.)

What have you accomplished since yesterday?: Recorded 5000 words, 1st pass edits on 5000 words, posted the anthology (OMG, so much coding. It was the post of DOOOOOOOOOOOM)
What challenges are you currently facing?: Just the usual, recording anxiety. Ideally, I'd like to do one more push to get the last 5500 words of this fic recorded and edited and maybe start on the next fic for recording, since my mum will be in town next week, so recording will be out (but I might be able to sneak in edits here and there). THIS IS THE FINAL PUSH!!! *\o/*

Woooooow! That anthology page looks AMAZING. It's so pretty and neat and an awesome use of the work skin. It must have taken FOREVER to do all those covers! <3

Awwww, thanks! I LOVE the skin (THANK YOU!!!!!), and it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out how to adjust it for anthologies, but I'm thrilled now that I've figured it out :D The covers were an exercise in how-fast-can-I-make-a-cover-GO-GO-GO! It was kind of fun to churn them out like lightning ♥

Ok, I never signed up for this round because it was like Tuesday before I even realized I should have signed up, but I got three little podfics recorded, edited, and posted this week. And I did 4 for ALPA that were submitted last Saturday.

I think just having this pop up every day has been good, even if I wasn't directly participating. Thanks for running it!

Tonight in podfic editing I've advanced 3 whole minutes in a 50-minute Audacity file (one of two). Too tired....

What have you accomplished since yesterday?:
I have completed the first pass edit of my 11k wd fic!! Which I don't think I mentioned before is actually for Cakebang. w00t! Plus I also managed a couple of minutes on that other 5k wd story, which is my stretch goal.

What challenges are you currently facing?:
Sick child, family vacation starting tomorrow, lack of sleep... and again with the crippling perfectionism. That 5k fic is just kicking my ass -- I am having issued matching the sound-quality on the rerecorded lines I'm inserting. Even though the overall reading itself will be great, I'm so sensitive about the sound-quality that I'm tempted to just scrap it all and start over with a new recording. But I have been working on this for ONE YEAR. And I am only able to record a couple times a year in the first place. So starting over would be madness. Y/N? *urgh*

What challenges are you currently facing?: The Olympics continue to be absorbing. I think I can call this GSD week a failure already, but considering this is a once-in-two-years event I'll forgive myself.
